Leona Lewis' new album is inspired by Coldplay. The 'Bleeding Love' singer is working on the long-awaited follow-up LP to her debut release 'Spirit' and has been listening to her favorite group to get ideas for a new rockier sound.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Leona was really happy with the success of her cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run', so she thought it logical to try her hand at a more rock-based sound.

"She's a huge Coldplay fan and their influence is strong on a number of demos." Leona - who shot to fame after winning UK TV talent show 'The X Factor' in 2006 - is expected to release her new album in November. The record is rumored to feature several star guests, including Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and super-producer Timbaland.

Leona recently promised her fans will be surprised by the finished LP. The 24-year-old star also revealed she plans to undertake her first ever solo tour once the album is released. She confirmed: "I'll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can't wait."

There is no doubt that Leona Lewis has become a much bigger star since she won talent show the X Factor.

But the fashion-forward singer's choice of outfit at the weekend certainly didn't help rumours of her weight gain.

Lewis cut a decidedly dumpy figure in the Ali Baba style jumpsuit she wore to perform at the Capital 95.8 Summertime Ball.

With its clingy fabric which billowed at the ankle and strapless bodice, the London-born singer displayed her curvaceous figure as she took to the stage in the black all-in-one.

It was a rare live appearance in the UK for Lewis, 24, who made the switch to the U.S. this year to record and promote an album.

She has been so busy with her career, that she has even had to turn down invitations from the President of the United States.

The X Factor 2006 winner was put on the guest list for a White House party but was unable to attend because of work commitments.

Her spokesman said at the time: 'She really wanted to meet him, but it unfortunately clashed with her schedule to get her second album done.

‘Leona has had studio sessions in LA booked for months and has been working day and night getting things perfectly.'

In addition to an anticipated follow up to the Grammy-nominated album "Spirit," Leona Lewis is amped up for what is being billed as a two year tour !

"I'll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can't wait," Lewis told Britain's Daily Star.

Currently wrapping production on the as-yet-untitled album, Lewis has reportedly worked with Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, insisting that fans will be surprised by a new sound.

"The music has a different feel this time. It's more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It's something I'll be able to perform live."

A source revealed: "Leona knows Lou was reaching breaking point. If she wanted to stay with him she was going to have to move back. He's got a good job in music and wasn't prepared to move to America.

British singer Leona Lewis has leased a furnished Hollywood Hills contemporary that was listed for close to $9,000 a month.

Designed for entertaining, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom house has an open living room, dining room and kitchen with glass doors to the backyard. The palm tree-lined outdoor living space includes a plasma TV and a dining and bar area. Stone decks surround the swimming pool.

Lewis, 24, was the 2006 winner of the U.K. talent competition show "The X Factor," and producer Simon Cowell (yes, that's the same Simon Cowell as on "American Idol") became her mentor. A revised edition of her album, "Spirit," made its North America premiere at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart last year.

She is in Los Angeles working on her second album.

The listing agent was Alexis Valentin, Sotheby's International Realty, Beverly Hills.

Leona Lewis is said to be desperately missing home - and it is beginning to show.

The X Factor winner, who left her boyfriend and family behind Hackney to build her career in the U.S., didn't look her usual sparkly self as she strolled around Los Angeles yesterday.

The Bleeding Love singer, famous for her trademark radiance, appeared a little worn down as she picked up a coffee in Hollywood before heading to the studio.

With no make up and unkempt hair, she looked a far cry from the glamorous star who is always praised for her poise, polish and sophistication.

And suggestions by tabloid magazines that she has put on weight were borne out by a rather unflattering pair of black leggings.

It seems not even her new £1.5million pad in the Hollywood Hills is enough to cheer her up despite being a considerable upgrade from the £120,000 two-bedroom flat in Hackney she bought last year with her boyfriend, electrician Lou Al-Chamaa.

A source told Now magazine: 'Leona's basically very family orientated and she misses her parents and her boyfriend.

'She's been homesick ever since she went to LA.'

'She has no natural network of friends where she is now and rarely sees her mentor Simon Cowell. His schedule is so busy, the two don't have much time to meet.

'They speak on the phone, but that isn't enough to counter Leona's feelings of isolation.'

It is understood that Leona has also been worried about a fan who was following her and waiting outside her new home.

Another source said: 'She plans to spend a lot more time out in the States at her new home to record her new album.

'She will also need to spend a lot of time promoting it as she really wants to crack America.

'She finds it difficult to be away from her family and has already had trouble with a fan, but she knows she is going to have to do it if she wants to be successful.'

The former Pizza Hut waitress won the third series of The X Factor in 2006 and was handed a £1million recording contract with Simon Cowell's label.

She then signed a further £5million five-album deal and has since gone on to break several records with the sales of her singles and albums.

Stalker forces Leona Lewis flee Hollywood Hills mansion

The 24-year-old star, who stayed in her four-million-pound house alone for six days, has returned to London.

According to reports, she had told her friends that she had not been feeling comfortable in the house because she felt lonely.

However, an unsettling incident with a fan was the final straw.

"Leona had just gone to the shops to pick up some bits and pieces and was followed all the way back home by this man," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

"She was completely unsettled by this and was pretty relieved to get back to the house safely. But when she looked out of the window later the man was still there, staring right at her. It freaked Leona out big time. She feared she was being stalked," the source added.

Leona decided to pack her bags and head back to London to see her parents and her boyfriend Lou.

"Right from the off, the place didn't feel right. Every night Leona was on the phone to friends, saying that she was lonely and not enjoying rattling around a huge house by herself," said the source.

"Mates came round to sleep over and keep her company but after she saw the bloke staring at her through the window, Leona decided she'd had enough, and jumped on a plane back to the UK," the source added.

Security at the house is now being beefed up.

The source said: "She's had new electronic gates put in and CCTV installed which links directly to the local police, station. Hopefully that'll put her mind at ease slightly. She's also asked Simon Cowell if he can find Lou, who now works for him, a placement over in the US."

Leona Lewis would “love” to perform alongside Michael Jackson.

The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer has fuelled reports she will join the pop superstar on stage during his London residency this summer by revealing she is a huge fan.

When asked about the rumours, Leona said with a smile: "I don’t know, I’d love to perform with Michael Jackson. So we’ll see."

Last month, it was claimed Michael wants Leona to perform his sister Janet's part from their 1995 duet 'Scream' for his ‘This It It’ shows at London's O2 arena.

A source said: "Michael has a list of singers he feels could do Janet justice - and Leona is top. He hasn't approached her yet but he's a big fan of everything she has achieved.

"She's massive all around the world and he feels this duet would give both their careers an even bigger boost."

Meanwhile, Leona has spoken out about her relationship with Simon Cowell, who was her mentor when she won UK reality TV show ‘The X Factor’ in 2006.

The 24-year-old star still regularly speaks to the music mogul, but admits he can be difficult to work with.

The title of the song recorded by Leona is "Don't Let Me Down". The statement on the Chalice's web read, "The beautiful and talented, Leona Lewis came in to record a new single called 'Don't Let Me Down' with Justin Timberlake producing and James Fauntleroy writing, this song is a surefire smash hit."

In another news related to Leona Lewis, the "Bleeding Love" hitmaker has also been rumored to make a duet with Justin Timberlake in a cover version of Whitney Houston's 1974 song "I Will Always Love You", which was penned by Dolly Parton. The five-date tour will open at the Hollywood Palladium on April 9th with a performance from Lewis.

Leona Lewis is snubbing the BRIT Awards.

The 'Bleeding Love' singer - who went home empty handed despite receiving four nominations last year - is reportedly furious after being ignored in all major categories at the prestigious music honours and is now refusing to attend tomorrow's ceremony (18.02.09).

A source close to Leona - who flew into London at the weekend from America - told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Leona is making a stand and not going. She's more likely to be curled up on the sofa with her boyfriend Lou in East London than to be getting glammed up for the BRITs.

"She may even jet out somewhere on holiday."

The only nomination the 23-year-old star - who shot to fame after winning British TV talent show 'The X Factor' in 2006 - has received is in the Best British Single category for 'Better In Time'.

However, the shortlist for the category is based on sales and airplay, unlike the other honours which are decided by a special panel of industry experts.

The winner of the award is decided by public voting.

Following last year's ceremony, Leona's mentor, music mogul Simon Cowell, blasted the decision not to honour her.

He said: "I don't like the BRITs. Leona at the BRITs should tell you everything about the record business. You should recognise and celebrate success, not sneer at it, wherever the artist comes from."

Leona Lewis is once again working with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder on new songs that will be included on her second album.

Tedder co-wrote Leona's international hit single 'Bleeding Love' (along with Jesse McCartney) and he's already been recording in Los Angeles with the British singer.

"We did about two and a half songs, and we already have something that everybody's extremely happy about," Ryan told E! News about the studio sessions so far.

"We're going to do a lot of it in L.A. But I'm going to try to get her out to Denver for a week. We'll see if she'll do that."

Still in its early stages, it is hoped Leona Lewis will release the sequel to her debut 'Spirit' in November. First up however, is a biography in October that will include mostly photos.

Pop-singer Leona Lewis has denied reports that she sparked a row between Chris Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna, which resulted in him allegedly assaulting the 'Umbrella' singer.

According to reports, Rihanna was angered after she apparently caught Brown speaking to Lewis at a pre-Grammy awards party in Los Angeles.

"Rihanna saw Chris flirting," the Mirror quoted a source, as saying.

"He and Leona were laughing, and Rihanna saw his hand on the small of her back. It was totally innocent, but that set Rihanna off," the source added.

Brown and Rihanna later left the party at LA's Beverly Hills Hilton and drove off in Brown's Lamborghini.

However, sources have confirmed that Lewis and Brown had spoken but said the 'X Factor' winner had done nothing to cause the incident that followed.

"Leona is very happy with her boyfriend Lou and it was totally innocent on her behalf. She wasn't flirting," a source said.

Despite being up for an award, it appears Leona Lewis has been snubbed by Brit bosses.

The singer has only been nominated for Best British single - a category chosen based solely on airplay and sales.

The winning song will therefore be put to a public vote.
Leona, 23, failed to make it into any other category, despite breaking America this year.

Her single Better in Time faces stiff competition though, from acts including fellow X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Coldplay and blonde bombshell Duffy.
A music source told the Mirror: ' It's a complete travesty. Leona has been overlooked in her own country.

'She should have been a dead-cert for Best Female. She's had the most amazing year - even the new US president wanted her to perform at his inauguration.'

The news will no doubt come as a blow to the Bleeding Love singer, who also missed out on any nominations for the MTV Europe Awards a few months ago.
And she went home empty handed at last year's Brits - despite being nominated four times.

Girls Aloud have been nominated for two awards at this year's show - Best British Single for The Promise and Best British Group.
They will be performing at the awards next month, alongside Kings of Leon, Duffy and U2.
Kylie Minogue and Gavin and Stacey stars James Corden and Mathew Horne will present the show, which takes place at London's Earls Court on February 18th.

Duffy, 24, has been shortlisted in four categories - best female solo artist, best breakthrough act, best single and best album.

The paper says the X Factor star will team up with German firm LR to create a great smelling fragrance.

Lewis is a strict vegetarian so the perfume will certainly not be tested on animals.

The Bleeding Love singer is at the helm of an expanding empire- she’s already designing an ethical clothing range for a high street chain.

Leona Lewis, who won talent TV show The X Factor in 2006 and topped charts around the world with debut album "Spirit," has signed a deal to pen her autobiography with publishing house Hodder & Stoughton.

The book, which will include more than 100 new photographs, will hit the shelves in October, shortly before the scheduled release of Lewis' second album, the publisher said on Monday.

"The last two years have been an unbelievable experience for me," said the 23-year-old Londoner, who debuted at No.1 in the key U.S. album chart last year, the first British woman to achieve the feat.

Spirit has sold an estimated five million copies around the world since its release in 2007.

Hodder & Stoughton, which did not disclose the financial details of the deal, said photographs for the autobiography would be taken by Dean Freeman, who also worked on the publisher's collaboration with soccer star David Beckham.

"This will be the first time Leona tells her story of how the X-Factor launched her from waitressing in Pizza Hut in Hackney to stardom on both sides of the Atlantic," said Hodder editor Fenella Bates.

"It is a real-life fairytale and every girl's dream."

Leona Lewis is just one of the names being targeted to play the role of Mariah Carey in a new Broadway musical, say insiders.

Reports claim Carey is discussing the possible production with husband Nick Cannon and the musical will be based upon the singer's life. If all goes to plan, it should hit the stage in 2009.

"Mariah's not sure if she'll star in it herself," a source tells the Mirror. "If she doesn't, names being tossed around include High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens and Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria."

"But Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she's the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah's eight-octave vocal range."

Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford will make a cameo in the Leona's new video "I Will Be". A source tells People how they met: “Chace went to London a couple months ago for meetings and to promote Gossip Girl. He went to a party and ended up meeting Leona. [The two] hit it off and talk every once in a while and have become fast friends… A couple weeks ago Leona called Chace and asked if he would be in her next video. He obviously said yes.”

“I Will Be” is a pop rock ballad produced by industry heavyweight Dr. Luke and co-written by Avril Lavigne and Max Martin.

As the year draws to a close, it’s a time to sit and think about what we’re grateful for. Here at PETA it’s Leona Lewis, so that’s why we’ve named her our Person of the Year 2008!

It’s been a huge year for Leona, what with being literally the world’s hottest pop sensation and all. Not only has the X-Factor starlet won and been nominated for more awards than you can shake a stick at, including four � yep, count them, four � BRIT Awards, she has gone on to become one of the most in-demand artists of the year, breaking international charts with her catchy singles. But what excites us the most, is Leona’s non-stop caring for animals, and how she doesn’t let her skyrocketing music career get in the way of her ethics.

Thanks to her vegetarian lifestyle and commitment to vegan fashion (Leona is in the process of setting up a fashion line using no skins whatsoever, dontcha know), this compassionate Brit earned herself the crown of Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity in our poll earlier this year, along with Red Hot Chilli Peppers legend, Anthony Kiedis. Leona Lewis is being eyed for New Year's Eve celebrations from different camps in the UK and US, with a fierce bidding war to secure the singer now in place, say reports.

Elton John is hoping to have the X Factor winner perform at his recently announced O2 Arena concert in London say sources, while event organisers in the States are hoping to bag Lewis for a special performance.

Insiders say that despite huge cash offers, Leona could turn down all invites and celebrate New Year's Eve at home with the family.

In related news, this week sees the re-release of her expanded 'Spirit' album.

London, Nov 10 (IANS) Upcoming British singer Leona Lewis picked up two prizes at the World Music Awards Sunday night.The 23-year-old former “The X Factor” contestant was among a host of other British talent like Coldplay, Ringo Starr and Amy Winehouse to scoop awards at the ceremony in Monte Carlo, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The young star was named Best Pop Female at the event, which honors the best selling acts of the year and hers was also named the Best New Act.

She, however, was not present to collect her awards.

Cowell 'furious' over 'stolen' Leona track

Simon Cowell is reportedly furious after Beyonce was given a song originally intended for Leona Lewis' new album.

Lewis had been expected to record 'Halo' and release it as the first single from her second album. The song was written for The X Factor winner by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, who also penned 'Bleeding Love'.

The track was then given to Beyonc� because Lewis was "too busy to record it", according to The Sun.

"Leona’s diary is so rammed it didn’t look like she could record it until next year. Ryan didn’t want to hang around, so he gave it to Beyonc�," an insider told the newspaper.

"Simon is miffed about this as he really wanted 'Halo' for Leona. Ryan has proved he’s got the magic touch - 'Bleeding Love' was a massive global hit."

Lewis is expected to release the follow up to debut album Spirit in 2009 and embark on a world tour the following year.

I know for one and think I speak for all Leona's fans that I am sure excited and can't wait for that second cd!

London, Nov 3 : Singer Leona Lewis has revealed that she would love to follow in the footsteps of actress Angelina Jolie by adopting kids. "I definitely want to adopt, " the Mirror quoted Lewis, as saying.

"My mum was a social worker and my dad was a youth offender officer, so I know that there are a lot of kids out there that need to be fostered and adopted," she added.

Lewis has admitted admits her life was changed after a trip to South Africa earlier this year for Sport Relief.

"When I was in Africa I wanted to take home all the kids. They were so cute. All of them had been orphaned because of HIV and it was heart-rending," she said.

"There are so many who need help - both here and abroad - you just don't know where to start," she added.

New British pop sensation Leona Lewis says she will never be caught drinking or photographed falling out of a nightclub drunk because she hates alcohol.

Lewis is clean and sober and wants to remain like that for the rest of her life. "When I was 18, I had a few glasses of alcopops and it was gross. I've tasted champagne, which is gross too. And I tasted wine, which I don't like," said the singer.

She also warned tabloids that they will never get pics of her showing flesh."I don't wear little mini-skirts and low-cut tops. If you want to show off your bits, that's up to you," said Lewis.

British singer Leona Lewis has made an amazing comeback by making her mark on YouTube - with more than 55 million hits. Lewis was one of the X Factor winners and she has conquered the music scene on the video site with millions of hits. Her promo for her hit single Bleeding Love entered the site"s top ten most viewed videos of all time.

The singer is said to be the only British artist to make it anywhere near the top ten, and at the last count, the No1 single has been watched by more than 55 million people, reports The Sun. She is at the moment in the sixth place, but she is fast catching up to Timbaland, who is featuring One Republic's Apologise video, which has been eyeballed by 56 million.

Leona is at the moment getting around 150,000 views a day, but hardcore fans are furious that she appears to have suddenly disappeared from YouTube's official list.

P. Diddy is planning to work with Leona Lewis on his next album.

The rapper explained that, following his pairing with Christina Aguilera on his last album, 2006's 'Press Play', he wants Lewis to feature prominently on his next.

P. Diddy, real name Sean Combs, told the Daily Mirror: "I want that girl on my next album. I'm a huge fan. Not only is she so, so beautiful, she has a great voice. She is extremely talented, and it's great she's from England.

"She has one of the best voices I've heard. I'm already thinking about my next album and definitely want to make it work, so she's on it.

"I had Christina Aguilera on my last album, but it's all about Leona Lewis on my next."

Combs also explained more about his admiration for David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton, saying: "I would love to do a fashion range with David Beckham. Us two together doing business would be amazing."

Referring to Hamilton, the rapper then said: "Lewis is the man! A true hero. He is going to teach me how to race, can you believe it? Honestly, if I was up against him I don't know who would win. We'll see."

Hey Everyone,

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind. I’ve been lucky enough to visit two countries I’ve never been to before and never imagined that I would!

I headed to Australia straight from LA - it was so beautiful flying in and looking out of the plane window, what a stunning country.

I spent about a week there, and it was really incredible. I went to the MTV Awards and presented an award with Brian McFadden - he was good fun. I also performed a live event for fans and media, sang on the live final of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ (the dancers are so talented!) and also Sunrise (an early morning TV show)! It was super-busy but I got to perform for a lot of people and take my music to the world, which has always been my biggest dream!

I also got to do a bit of sightseeing - I saw the famous bats in the Botanical Gardens (there are literally hundreds and they are SO big!), I did a ferry trip across from Circular Quay harbour (where the Opera House and Harbour Bridge are!) and went for a walk and dinner at Bondi. Lou was with me so it was nice to experience it together.

I can’t wait to go back to Australia and spend more time there. I only experienced Sydney on this visit but I hear the rest of the country is simply incredible!

I then flew onto Tokyo in Japan, which is where I’m currently writing!

I absolutely love it here- the people are so gracious and lovely. I’ve so enjoyed looking around and the shopping (especially in Shibuya & Harajuku!)

I’ve been fortunate enough to perform on some music shows here, Music Fair, Music Station and a breakfast TV called Mezamasshi, they were all incredible fun. I had a translator who came to all the shows with me called Hitomi, she was amazing and even taught me some Japanese words - Arigato!!!

I did a showcase in Tokyo where I performed four tracks - the night before there was an earthquake so we were all woken up by it at like 2am! We are staying in the tallest building in Tokyo and you could really feel it swaying! The following day there was another tremor while I was performing! Yikes!!!

I’ve had the most amazing experiences in these countries and I’m so excited about coming back and visiting more in the future, the support I have received is so overwhelming and I am so grateful and thankful to everyone who has made this trip so enjoyable.

So I now head back to LA to shoot my video for ‘Forgive Me’ - I’m not going to tell you the idea behind it, as I want it to be surprise, I’m super excited!

Leona Lewis has survived a terrifying earthquake in Japan. The singer was in Tokyo promoting her album Spirit yesterday, when the natural disaster struck. Six people were injured and power was cut off to 4,500 homes.
Leona, 23, was sleeping in her penthouse suite at the 5-star Grand Hyatt Hotel when the tremors began.
‘Leona was really shaken up but called home to tell her family she was OK,’ a source tells the Daily Mirror.
The earthquake measured 6.8 on the Richter scale.

Leona Lewis' meteoric rise since her Pop Idol victory continues, with news that she is scheduled to perform at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert in London. The Bleeding Love singer has reportedly been added to the star-studded line-up for the former South Africa President's milestone celebrations in London this summer. The concert will be her biggest show ever and would mark the end of her successful world tour to promote her debut album Spirit. Lewis, 23, recently became the first British solo artist to top the US album charts with a debut record, after Spirit sold 205,000 copies in its first week to be number one in The Billboard 200. Her debut US single Bleeding Love topped The Billboard Hot 100 chart, while her mentor Simon Cowell recently revealed she is the biggest-selling new artist in the world.
Lewis will be joined at London's Hyde Park by Eminem after Queen rocker Brian May persuaded him to come out of retirement. Troubled singer Amy Winehouse, Razorlight, Sugababes and Keane are also expected to perform at the event on June 27. Geri Halliwell has promised to give Mandela a special treat for his 90th birthday. The singer - who is rumoured to be headlining the concert with the rest of the Spice Girls - famously flirted with the revered politician when she met him with the band in 1997.

The chart-topping singer insists she "didn't really hear any similarity" between Leona's music and her own, and claims there will never be a "new" Mariah.

She said: "Honestly, there has been so many, 'This is the new her,' and I'm like, 'OK, show me the new her. Can she come and work for me and be my double?'"

"And I'm not particular talking about this girl Leona, because I only heard her once and I didn't really hear a true similarity, particularly in the style of music.

"It is what it is and critics have compared me to so many people who are not really singers, and they're certainly not writers."

Mariah says if she spent her time worrying about her chart rivals it would depress her.

She added to the Observer Music Monthly magazine: "If I was to focus on the comparisons and really dwell on that, it would bring me down so I just try to pray that I lose the sprit of jealousy, it's not a good one - envy is a really powerful thing."

Leona's debut LP Spirit hit the number one spot in America last week.

British singer Leona Lewis has done what many thought was simply not possible. She has made her debut at the top of the U.S. pop album chart.

Her new singe, Bleeding Love, is also No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.

The new album, Spirit, sold more than 205,000 copies in its first week.

The last British woman to top the U.S. album chart was Sade in 1986 with Promise.

Her manager, Simon Cowell stated "What Leona has achieved is simply incredible. This is the hardest market to crack and for her debut album to go in at number one is unbelievable."

Lewis was nominated for four Brit Awards earlier in 2008.

It seems she is making the transition from Britain to the U.S. just fine.

LEONA Lewis had a special 23rd birthday when some of her family and friends flew out to join her in New York for the celebrations.

The Bleeding Love superstar said: "My friends and family came out, which has been so lovely.

"We had a fun birthday meal and I also went to see the Little Mermaid musical on Broadway.

"It was such an amazing show. I sat in the front row and was mesmerized beginning to end."

Leona to perform on 'Dancing On Ice'

Leona Lewis is to debut her new single during the semi-final of Dancing On Ice.

The singer will perform Sport Relief song 'Footprints In The Sand' on the ITV1 show on March 9, while Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean skate around her.

She will take to the ice again in the results show to sing 'Better In Time', the second track from the double A-side release.

Leona to release Sport Relief song

Leona Lewis is set to release a double A-side single Footprints In The Sand and Better In Time as the official Sport Relief song.

BBC Sport Relief, which takes place between Friday March 14 and 16 aims to harness the power and passion of sport to change lives for the better. Former X Factor winner Leona will be flying to Africa in the coming weeks to see some of the work undertaken by the charity.

Footprints In The Sand is based on the most universally downloaded poem ever by the same name.

Leona - who is up for four awards at next month's Brits - said: "I recorded Footprints In The Sand in the UK with Steve Mac and it's a very special song to me. Originally it was a poem, it's very inspirational so we put it into a song. I think it is very moving, with a very emotional lyric and I really love to sing this song."

We can confirm that Leona’s next single will be a double A-side of ‘Better In Time’ and ‘Footprints In The Sand’. The beautiful new tracks will be released digitally on 9th March and physically just a day later, hitting the shelves on 10th March.

Leona records new songs for US album

Leona Lewis is to add two new songs to the US version of her record-breaking Spirit album.

The singer has ventured into the studio to record 'Forgive Me', a duet with rapper Akon, and 'Misses Glass', a collaboration with Madd Scientist and RockCity, the writing/production team who have recently worked with Nicole Scherzinger.

'Bleeding Love', Lewis' US debut single, will receive its American radio premiere in the first week of February, while the US version of Spirit will be released on April 8.

Lewis has also shot a new video for the American release of 'Bleeding Love', which is to premiere on VH1 on February 4.
